tranSonic
“TranSonic” is a frontier sound art performance event, whose performance is mainly sound creation. It gets beyond the boundary of sounds, and tries the combination and develops them by diverse media. This time, by the space of theater stage, laser device, fluorescent tubes self-made instrument, sound device, audio visual, and computer-generated etc., those various sound performance possibilities represent unprecedented sound sensation experience.

Satoru Higa


Satoru Higa is a Programmer / Artist.

His main interests are sound performance and software art. He mainly designs original software for the realtime performance of his audio-visual works.

Atsuhiro Ito


Born in 1965. Ito embarked on a career as a paint~visual artist in the late 1980s.  In 1998, he began to do sound performances at art exhibitions.  Ito invented his original music device, the OPTRON,which makes use of fluorescent tubes, which Ito also uses in his art installations.  Over the years , he continued to refine the instrument and to approach sound and music from a contemporary-art-based perspective. Apart from his solo exhibition and performances , he has been an active member of a number of music units such as [ Optrum ] an “ extreme optical noise core ”band consisting of Ito and drummer. ( Another units :Imai Kazuo TRIO (2005~) ,  OFFSEASON (2007~), etc…)
Between 2000 and 2005, Ito organized various sound (music) / visual image-related events at the gallery / free space “ OFF SITE” . Optrum released an album“ recorded” in june 2006 with the label UNKNOWNMIX (HEADZ).  In 2009, Ito launched his own label - GOTOBAI recordings.
And released solo DVD “ OPTVISION “ in same year.


Edwin van der Heide


Edwin van der Heide is an artist and researcher in the field of sound, space and interaction. He extends the terms composition and musical language into spatial, interactive and interdisciplinary directions. His work comprises installations, performances and environments. The audience is placed in the middle of the work and challenged to actively explore, interact and relate themselves to the work.

He has presented his work at renown museums and festivals as SMAK - Ghent, Ars Electronica Festival - Linz, Stedelijk Museum - Amsterdam, V2_'s DEAF - Rotterdam, ICC - Tokyo, NAMOC - Beijing, Transmediale - Berlin, SONAR - Barcelona, Taipei Fine Arts Museum, SFMOMA, FILE - Brazil and SONAMBIENTE - Berlin.

Beside’s running his own studio he's part-time assistant professor at Leiden University (LIACS / Media Technology MSc programme) and heading the Spatial Interaction Lab at the ArtScience Interfaculty of the Royal Conservatoire and Arts Academy in The Hague. He was Edgard Varèse guest professor at the Technische Universität Berlin (2009) and won the Witteveen+Bos Art+Technology Award 2009 for his entire body of work.


CraftWeak



Born in Taipei in 1981, he subsequently grew up in Chingli, Taiwan. His artworks focus on the relationship between media arts and subcultures. He generally works in audio-visual performance. Due to his background in animation, he is committed to real-time performance.

WANG, Fujui


Fujui Wang, Head of the Trans-Sonic Lab in center for art and techology of Taipei National University of the Arts, specializes in sound Art and Interactive Art. Fujui Wang is the pioneer of Sound Art in Taiwan, who established the first experimental sound zine/label NOISE/Taiwan in 1993.

In 2000 Wang joined ETAT and initiated BIAS Sound Art Exhibition and Sound Art Prize in the Digital Art Awards Taipei. His arts activities contribute to enhancing Sound Art as a new genre in Taiwan's art scene. He has curated The Digital Art Festival Taipei and "TranSonic" sound art festival. Fujui Wang is dedicated to making and promoting Sound Art and Digital Art creativity in more than a decade.

LI, Bo-Ting


LI, Bo-Ting, born in 1986, Taipei, has almost incurable Thalassemia and this is the main context for his creations. LI’s major was sculpture in the University. LI’s works then were chiefly motive power/ device and also attempted sound works. LI is currently studying in the Graduate lnstitute of Arts and Technology, Taipei National University of the Arts. He attempts to combine the motive power device and sound works.

YAO, Chung-Han



Taiwanese sound artist born in 1981. YAO devoted himself to sound, installations and live performances. His works showed the dialogue between lights and sounds, trying to evoke the sense of the bodies of audiences. Fluorescent tubes and laser were constantly used in YAO’s works as the form of lights.

As an active emerging sound artist, YAO founded “i/O Lab.” to organize sound performance events including “Nan-Hai Sound”, “Lacking Sound Festival” and “U*SOUND” since 2005. These events gave young sound artists a stage, also brought more audiences into this field in Taiwan.

In 2008, YAO was awarded Sound Art Prize at Digital Art Festival Taipei (Taiwan). He also gained international praises, constantly performed and exhibited in several Asian cities and Europe. He was invited by "The 4th Fukuoka Asian Art Triennale" (2009, Japan), "NTT ICC - Emergincies!014" in Tokyo (2010, Japan), "STEIM - Massive Light Boner" in Amsterdam (2010, Netherlands).

YAO was graduated from Graduate Institute of Arts and Technology, Taipei National University of the Arts. Now He lectures at Architecture Department, Shih Chien University as an Adjunct Instructor where he earned a bachelor’s degree.

CHANG, Yung-Ta


Taipei based sound artist. His works take on a variety of forms such as Audio-Visual, experimental sound, installations and live performances. He composes time-based sculpture with field recording sources where the exquisite and violent coexist. He tries to combine minimal, ambient and complexities and find the possible. His visual work developed according to the audio’s original data and its micro unit. In recent years, he also collaborated with independent dancers and visual artists and has performed in many countries.


CHANG, Bo-Chih


CHANG, Bo-Chih, graduated from the Graduate lnstitute of Arts and Technology,
Taipei National University of the Arts in 2007. CHANG was a member of “LOGICO”
in the art creation team. CHANG was active in various events as “New Media Art
Worker”, “Homepage Designer”, “Theater Image Designer”, and “Music Video
Director”. CHANG was selected to the project of Technology and Arts from National
Culture and Arts Foundation. He lately participated in Issey Miyake Spring/Summer
Fashion Show (sound and image design), CHEN Chien-Chi “Taipei Art Festival” –
Flower and Farewell Concert (image design), the musical play of Turn Left Turn Right(image design) etc. He is now engaged in the project of Sound-Visual.
